Certificate of Divorce
The certificate of divorce is an official document issued by the Civil Registry that certifies the dissolution of the marriage. It must contain the data of the contracting parties, date and place in which the marriage was contracted, date of the divorce, basis for the dissolution of the marriage (judgment of the Justice of the Peace, joint application of the spouses, etc.) and entry number.
It is common for this certificate to be necessary to remarry, to prove that you have not been married in case you want to claim an inheritance, acquire a private property, change the beneficiaries of an insurance policy, etc.
