Life status/Marital status
The certificate of life and marital status is the document that certifies that a person is alive, as well as his or her marital status: single, married, widowed or divorced. It can be issued in the Civil Registry by personal request. Life status is also proven by appearance of the subject or by notarial act of presence, and marital status by sworn statement or solemn affirmation of the subject himself or by act of notoriety.
This document may be required by different organisations for procedures such as payment of the retirement, widowhood or orphan pension, to request subsidies, payment claim of insurance or only to prove the marital status for other purposes.
